The Animated Series' Creator Has Seen Fans' Second Season Predictions — With Some Good News

The much-anticipated second season of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel debuts on Prime Video soon, and fan speculation has been rampant.

The first season introduces a large cast of personalities living within Hell and Heaven, sets them at odds accompanied by musical numbers detailing their conflicts, and establishes tense rivalries and angsty, affectionate connections that fuel fan obsession.

The fandom's stated hopes for season 2 vary widely, but certain threads emerge over and over: Will a fan-favorite character break free from Valentino? Might we learn more about the mysterious "deal" constraining the enigmatic Alastor? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Naturally, I don't make the show with audience demands specifically in mind," the creator commented earlier this year. "But I believe that me being a devotee of the series means there's a lot of it just naturally. I also am eager for these things, and I want some of these things to occur, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator says her big-picture plan is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have received approval by Prime Video and A24, which finance the series.

That might mean fans have to wait years for some of the major resolutions — but they could be shocked at how fast the new season progresses, and how much of what they're anticipating unfolds this season.

"I feel like people are going to get a lot out of it," she adds. "There are several debut moments. I think we receive some incredible disclosures, some fascinating backstories, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear much more singing from the previously silent cast members."

The creator is well-informed of the theories and desires about the upcoming season — particularly in the format of fan bingo cards.

"I've seen a couple people create a bingo card about season 2," she mentions. "Obviously I won't share it, but I've actually done a few items, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season premieres on the streaming service on October 29.
